Supplementary material required:
Submit PDF's of the plans for Engineering records once revisions are completed for the other reviewing agencies. Files can be emailed to Tim Troester at ttroester@cityofmadison.com
Note:
The submitted plans show no proposed land disturbance or construction other than restriping of the parking stalls. If to meet requirements of other agencies land disturbance and/or construction is necessary Engineering may have additional comments pending review of the resubmittal.

Engineering Mapping
Redraft required:
A plot/site plan of the entire site, drawn to scale and fully dimensioned, showing any parking or loading facilities to be provided in compliance with 28.11(2)(f) MGO and any additional information as may be required by the Zoning Administrator, including, but not limited to the following: -property lines fully dimensioned; -all existing and proposed buildings (including any accessory buildings not on concrete foundation) fully dimensioned; -existing and proposed impervious areas (including but not limited to, buildings, sidewalks, parking [paved bituminous, concrete, gravel, etc.]) Label pervious areas.
Supplementary material required:
The Applicant shall submit, prior to plan sign-off, a digital CAD file (single file) to the Engineering Program Specialist in the Engineering Division (Lori Zenchenko). The digital CAD file shall be to scale and represent final construction. The single CAD file submittal can be either AutoCAD (dwg) Version 2001 or older, MicroStation (dgn) Version J or older, or Universal (dxf) format and contain the only the following data, each on a separate layer name/level number: a) Building Footprints; b) Internal Walkway Areas; c) Internal Site Parking Areas; d) Other Miscellaneous Impervious Areas (i.e. gravel, crushed stone, bituminous/asphalt, concrete, etc.); e) Right-of-Way lines (public and private); f) All Underlying Lot lines or parcel lines if unplatted; g) Lot numbers or the words “unplatted”; h) Lot/Plat dimensions; i) Street names. All other levels (contours, elevations, etc) are not to be included with this file submittal. NOTE: Email file transmissions preferred Lzenchenko@cityofmadison.com . Include the site address in the subject line of this transmittal. Any changes or additions to the location of the building, sidewalks, parking/pavement during construction will require a new CAD file.

Fire
Redraft required:
Submit revised site plans shall clearly identify the location of all existing fire lanes and conditions, and these shall be maintained or if changed shall meet todays code.Provide information on the gate width and approved key boxes provided for all gates.

Provide a fire lane with the minimum clear unobstructed width of 20-feet if any changes in the fire lane occurs

Where there is a change in the direction of a fire lane, the minimum inside turning radius shall be at least 28-feet if any changes in the fire lanes occurs.

Traffic Engineering
Redraft required:
Per ordinance, the small car stalls shall not exceed 25% of the total number of Medium and Large Vehicles and Small Vehicles stalls for the facility. The site plan shall show small car parking spaces identified and properly controlled with a sign “Small Cars Only” per each space, when plans are submitted for approval. The applicant shall modify the proposed parking for width, length and backing up for parking spaces, according to Figures II "Medium and Large Vehicles" and “Small Vehicles” parking design standards in Section 10.08(6)(b) 2 and 3.

Zoning
Redraft required:
Accessible parking stalls are required. For specifications please see the link titled “Accessible Parking Stalls” at http://www.cityofmadison.com/BI/zoning.html. In this case, one van accessible stall is required that should serve both buildings. A three-foot wide accessible route must be striped from the access aisle to the nearest accessible entrances.

The existing parking stalls seem to have an irregular width. The minimum width of a standard stall is 8'. Unless otherwise noted (see Traffic Engineering comments) stalls must be 8' wide.

Dumpsters must be screened from public rights-of-way and neighboring properties. Please indicate location of all dumpsters and type of screening to be provided.

Bicycle parking is required. One bike-parking stall for each dwelling unit or 3 lodging rooms is required. Stalls must be a minimum of 2’ X 6’ and have a 5’ access aisle. See http://www.cityofmadison.com/trafficEngineering/bicyclingParking.cfm for further specifications. Please note type of racks to be installed on plan.
