Engineering
Redraft required:
The catchbasins from the unloading dock areas cannot be tied into the infiltration system as they take untreated water off of paved/parking surfaces. In addition there is concern of these causing flooding/water back ups in the unloading dock area once the infiltration trench is at capacity.
Redraft required:
An monitoring well/point needs to be added in the infiltration trench in order to check that it continues to function. Checking the water level in the infiltration trench should be included in the maintenance agreement.

Show size and alignment of the proposed water service.

Label force main stubs and force main lines for the private sanitary systems.
Supplementary material required:
The Applicant shall submit, prior to plan sign-off, digital CAD files to the Engineering Program Specialist in the Engineering Division (Lori Zenchenko). The digital copies shall be to scale and represent final construction. CAD submittals can be AutoCAD (dwg), MicroStation (dgn) or Universal (dxf) formats and contain the following data, each on a separate layer name/level number: a) Building Footprints, b) Internal Walkway Areas, c) Internal Site Parking Areas, d) Other Miscellaneous Impervious Areas (i.e. gravel, crushed stone, bituminous/asphalt, concrete, etc.). The Applicant shall submit prior to sign-off, digital PDF files to the Engineering Division (attention: Tim Troester, email: ttroester@cityofmadison.com). Submit a signed and notarized original copy of a Storm Water Management Maintenance Agreement which will be recorded by City Engineering with Dane County Register of Deeds. Include maintenance provisions for the inlet filters, infiltration trench and catch basins.

The soils used for the iniltration calculations have not been classified per the WDNR technical quidelines. To use the rates given by the WDNR for the different soil types they must be classified in the USDA soil classification system.

Fire
Redraft required:
Provide a completed MFD "Fire Apparatus Access and Fire Hydrant Worksheet" with the site plan submittal.

The revised site plans shall clearly identify the location of all fire lanes.

Provide an aerial apparatus fire lane that is at least 26-feet wide, with the near edge of the fire lane within 30-feet of the structure, and parallel to one entire side of the structure.

Traffic Engineering
Redraft required:
The applicant shall modify the driveway approaches according to M.G.O. 10.08(3)(b), No entrance shall be closer than five (5) ft. to an adjacent property line.
Redraft required:
The driveway approach shall have a 5 foot flare at the driveways making each driveway approach curb cut of forty (40) feet and should be revised on the plan.
Redraft required:
The applicant shall dimension all driveway approaches that any two driveway approaches shall be at least ten (10) ft. apart and in no case less than the sum of the approach flare. The applicant shall show and dimension the existing driveway approach on the western adjacent property.
Redraft required:
"Stop" signs shall be installed at a height of seven (7) feet at all driveway approaches behind the property line and noted on the plan. All directional/regulatory signage and pavement markings on the site shall be shown and noted on the plan.

The applicant shall modify the plan so no part of the driveway approaches shall extend in front of the property belonging to a person other than the permittee unless both property owners sign a joint application for a permit or driveway radii waiver letter prior to submittal of plans for approval.
